Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and product-focused Senior Data Engineer to create AI-driven features and develop recommendation systems for visual artworks. The perfect candidate has a solid background in machine learning, data engineering, and deploying ML models to production. We need someone with a strong sense of ownership and autonomy.

Your Responsibilities

• Deploy machine learning solutions in production on AWS & GCP
• Participate in product discovery to propose ML product features
• Design, implement, and validate ML algorithms for visual similarity and recommendations
• Develop image-to-metadata solutions using multimodal LLMs to enhance artwork catalog data
• Write clean, efficient code following best practices in software development
• Build prototypes, conduct experiments, and manage end-to-end ML projects
• Collaborate with product, data engineering, and cross-functional teams
• Research and evaluate new tools and technologies

General Expectations

• Experience deploying ML models in production on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with data science libraries (scikit-learn, PyTorch, Huggingface)
• Experience creating robust, well-documented machine learning APIs (FastAPI, API Gateway)
• Proficiency with software development best practices, including design patterns, code reviews, and TDD
• Experience with ML tooling, such as experiment tracking and model versioning
• Practical knowledge of Data Warehouses (preferably BigQuery), SQL (Postgres, MySQL), and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
• Understanding of data structures, modeling, and software architecture
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data science/engineering

Nice to Have

• Experience with large language models (LLMs) like GPT and LangChain/LangServe
• Experience with CI/CD (Gitlab CI/CD, CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Experience with data pipelining (Spark, AWS Glue, Airflow, dbt)
• Experience with e-commerce recommendation systems
• Experience with advertising data (Fivetran, Google Analytics + Tag Manager, Google & Meta Ad Platforms)
• Experience designing A/B tests based on machine learning features
